Pulmonologist Shares the Symptoms of Bronchiectasis


Host Paul Gleiser talks to pulmonologist Dr. William Girard about bronchiectasis in this University of Texas Health Science Center video shared in 2012.

Characteristics of bronchiectasis depends on the underlying cause of the disease. 

Girard explains the symptoms of this chronic lung disease, including lower respiratory infections and a persistent cough with lots of mucus. He also describes some of the known causes of bronchiectasis such as cystic fibrosis or infections like whooping cough and the current treatment options available for patients.
