Allergic Bronchopulmonary Aspergillosis
An allergy to a specific type of fungus called aspergillosis can cause bronchiectasis. Those who are allergic to the fungus (which can be found in soil and also the sputum of healthy people) often have either cystic fibrosis or asthma.
